Justin, air guitar champ.
Our two Tasman adventurers, James
Castrission and Justin Jones are half way between Australia and New Zealand.
They posted a podcast on their site today telling people that they are in their
most serious situation yet.
The rudder has become entangled in the cords of their
sea anchor and to fix the problem, one of them will need to get in the water
and untangle the rope. It is an extremely dangerous job to attempt to fix so
they will try to repair it first thing in the morning.
The entanglement is putting a huge amount
of stress on the rudder and it could break off leaving a giant hole in the back
of the boat.
They are currently battling 30 knot winds
and five- to seven-metre seas, with waves crashing over the kayak. Looks like
it is going to be another sleepless night.
