Theft of kayaks from a vehicle in Loughborough

Officers are appealing for witnesses after two kayaks were stolen from a vehicle in Loughborough. Officers are appealing for witnesses after two kayaks were stolen from a vehicle in Loughborough.

The incident took place between midnight on Thursday May 1 and 8am on Friday May 2, 2008 when thieves stole two kayaks which were strapped securely to the roof of a vehicle parked on Herrick Road.

One of the kayaks has been described as a Pyranah I3 kayak which is yellow with some orange colouring and the other is a Dagger GT kayak which is yellow.

PC Lee Thompson, who is investigating the incident, said: "We're appealing for anyone who witnessed this incident to get in touch.

"Do you recall seeing anyone acting suspiciously around the Herrick Road area between these times to contact us or do you know who was responsible for this theft. If so, please get in touch with us."

Anyone with any information is asked to contact PC 1855 Lee Thompson at Charnwood LPU on 0116 2222222, follow the instructions to leave a message for a police officer and when prompted key in the officer's identification number 1855. Alternatively contact Crimestoppers, which is free* and anonymous on 0800 555 111.
